Five Silvers for Serbia at IPhO 2018
The 49th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) took place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 21 to 29 July 2018. The National team that represented Serbia has won 5 silver medals. The members of the team were Igor and Marko Medvedev from Mathematical Grammar School in Belgrade, Novak and Bogdan Stanojević from The Grammar School "Svetozar Marković" in Niš, and Dimitrije Pavlov from The Grammar School "Vuk Karadžić" in Loznica. The team was headed by SCL's Veljko Janković and Doc. Dr Božidar Nikolić from the Faculty of Physics, University of Belgrade.
SCL members and trainees have been actively involved in the organization of all levels of high-school physics competitions in Serbia, as well as in the preparation of students for IPhO. While Veljko Janković, Ana Hudomal, and Nenad Vukmirović have designed problems proposed to the fourth-grade students, Mihailo Čubrović and Aleksandar Bukva have prepared problems for the second-grade students.
