Oliver Gabel visits SCL
Oliver Gabel from the Free University of Berlin visited SCL from 15 to 28 November 2009 as a part of research activities of the PI-BEC bilateral project. The main goal of this visit was work on extending the analytic approach which allows efficient study of non-equilibrium quantum statistics properties of trapped ideal Bose gases, developed in his diploma thesis under supervision of Dr. Axel Pelster. The considered extensions include generalization of the formalism to the grand-canonical ensemble and numerical approaches necessary to allow treatment of interactions and non-harmonic trapping potentials.
This visit was supported by the PI-BEC project, as well as by the EU Centre of Excellence Grant CX-CMCS.
