EGEE Grid training for Petnica students of Astronomy
EGEE NA3 Grid training event for students of Astronomy is organized by the Scientific Computing Laboratory of the Institute of Physics Belgrade at the Petnica Science Center in Valjevo, Serbia on Wednesday, 7 October 2009. The attendants of the training event had the opportunity to learn about different Grid concepts, and a chance to try them during the several hands-on sessions. Apart from EGEE induction, various other subjects were covered during the training: from general cluster frameworks, Grid environments, and gLite services to submitting and monitoring different types of jobs and manipulating files on storage elements. New CPU architectures and compilers, together with modern trends in IT world were presented as well.
