EGEE Grid training for Petnica students of Mathematics
The Scientific Computing Laboratory of the Institute of Physics Belgrade organized an EGEE training event for students of Mathematics and Computer Science at Petnica Science Center in Valjevo, Serbia on Tuesday, 6 October 2009. The goal of the event was to give insights to gLite technologies as well as to the tools and programming environments for users interested in developing and running their applications on Grid infrastructures.
All participants were first-time users of Grid resources, without their own Grid certificates. For this reason, a pool of temporary Unix accounts at AEGIS01-IPB-SCL UI machine was created, with a set of short-term SEE-GRID Demo CA certificates pre-loaded on each account and registered at AEGIS VOMS database. During the training AEGIS VO resources were used by the participants to submit test jobs as a part of hands-on sessions.
