SCL Lecture series on complexity
SCL's senior researchers will give a series of popular lectures on the topic of complex systems. The lectures will be held on Mondays in the period from 14 October until 25 November 2024, and are jointly organized by the Institute of Physics Belgrade and Ilija M. Kolarac Endowment.
It is already a tradition that each year these two institutions collaborate with a common goal to bring modern topics of physics to broader audiences through a series of popular lectures. Complex systems that will be discussed in the forthcoming cycle range from astrophysics and cosmology to social and condensed matter physics.
First lecture in this series entitled
The physics of complexity and the hidden forces in our social lives
will be given by Dr. Marija Mitrović Dankulov (Institute of Physics Belgrade) on Monday, 14 October 2024 at 18:00 in the small lecture hall of the Kolarac Endowment.
The complete lecture series schedule:
14 October - Dr. Marija Mitrović Dankulov: The physics of complexity and the hidden forces in our social lives
21 October - Dr. Nenad Vukmirović: From atoms, through complexity, to free electricity
28 October - Dr. Marija Janković: Remote complex worlds: extrasolar planets and asteroids
4 November - Dr. Antun Balaž: Complex landscapes of ultracold atoms
18 November - Dr. Jakša Vučičević: Struggle against complexity in physics of high-temperature superconductors
